QUESTION: When I exited Setup, I came to the C:\> prompt, instead of the MAIN MENU. What can I do to fix this?

ANSWER:

Reboot the computer, and in doing so, bypass the autoexec.bat and config.sys files.

To bypass the startup files on DOS versions earlier than MSDOS 6.0, you will need to rename your C:/AUTOEXEC.BAT and C:/CONFIG.SYS to something else and reboot. On MSDOS Version 6.0-6.22 you can press the [F5] function key when it says Starting MSDOS. On WIN95 MSDOS Version 7. you can press [F8] and answer [N] to all the prompts.

To deinstall, go to the MAIN MENU, and choose 7. Utilities and then choose 7. Remove. Put original program disk #1 in floppy drive and follow instructions to deinstall.

Then reinstall, using the following install procedure, after you have bypassed the autoexec.bat and config.sys files.

To begin installation:

Insert Disk 1 into drive A (or B) and make that drive active by typing A:<enter>.

Type install and press <enter>.

At the first Install screen, select S for Standalone or N for Network.

At the second screen select the desired drive by using the Arrow keys followed by pressing <enter>.

At the next install screen you may accept or change the start-up command (IQ9).

At this point the install program will go to work and will ask for the

insertion of the remaining program disks.

To launch the program, type the start-up command selected, press

<enter> and, when prompted, type SECRET as your Company

Authorization Code.
